Out on the tip of Motobu peninsula of Okinawa just north of the Churaumi Aquarium lies a quaint little area known as Bise village. With its Fukugi tree-lined pathways, one could not feel further away from the scenes of urban life. The trees offer protection from the strong winds of the peninsula and the blistering heat of summer, while providing a very peaceful place to unwind. Wander around the village and enjoy a meal at one of the several authentic Japanese restaurants.
After the discussion, we had fun using a smartphone app to practice using the hyperfocal distance on the tree-lined pathways. As the sun started to set we shifted our attention to the shoreline to capture the sun as it set just south of Ie Island.
Head towards the Churaumi Aquarium. Just north of the aquarium, there will be a large hotel. Make the first left after the hotel. Travel about 200m and make the first right. Travel another 200m and you will come to the Southern parking lot. Stay to the right and follow this road for about 800m to the northern parking lot.
